FLEA MARKETING SUCCESSFULLY
Time to flea.
*Arrive early, even before sunrise, and bring a flashlight.
*Walk through the entire market once and then home in on the dealers whose goods
struck you fancy.
*For outdoor flea markets, dress accordingly and in layers. Wear comfortable shoes and carry rain gear for inclement weather.
*Prepare a list of items to narrow your search.
*Don't settle for the asking price. State your offer and be prepared to walk away rather than be bullied into making a purchase.
*Bring cash. Although some dealers accept credit cards, cash goes further and will help you in your bargaining. You can even ask for a cash discount.
*If you see something you are interested in but are not happy with the price, don't buy on impulse. You may get it at a reduced rate if the item hasn't been sold by the end of the day, when vendors
are more inclined to negotiate in order to unload their goods.
*Visit markets throughout the country, as some items are more plentiful in certain regions than others.
*Be prepared to haul your treasures home at the end of the day.

One day at a time, change your life....
Most of my life, people told me what I could not do. I was constantly reminded of the many obstacles there would be to achieving my dreams. I was born in a time when the world didn't recognize the beauty or strength of a women. Living in Key West, Florida young girls had no dreams of college, much less getting through high school, mothers didn't work, if they did it was a low paying waitressing job. My father didn't try to be a part of my life. Looking back, I realize that I learned to be afraid of fully believing I would amount to much, as much as I wanted to believe I was worthy of a wonderful life, I would hear the voice of my grandmother in Key West as we would pass the young hippies sleeping on the streets, if the world doesn't change that is where you will end up some day. Something inside of me doubted I could ever achieve being or adding up to much.
I lived through one trauma after the next before I realized I had the power to transform my life. During this painful process. The pain made me stronger, it made me realize that as long as I'm alive, nothing or no person could ever ultimately determine my destiny. I finally met my real self at age 30.
Having two boys, and a daughter I have realized the opportunities available to this generation. Yet, I see the struggles with drugs that were available in the 60's when I grew up, the drugs the hippies sleeping in the streets of Key West were on. From marijuanna to heroin.
My message isn't complicated. It's really quite simple. No matter what generation you live in, no matter your age, no matter the hard times, trauma you are living through that engulf your life and threaten to destroy your dreams. What you must do is GET OUT OF YOUR OWN WAY! You may be living like I once was. Self doubt, lack of knowledge about how to change, your past does not define your future, where you came from should not hold power over your destiny. I hope this blog helps at least one person this year, find their way out of the dark and into the light that is always present if you stop listening to the thoughts in your head about yourself.

You only live once-but if you work it right, once is enough...Joe E. Lewis
If you knew that a year from today you could be living the most creative, joyous, and fulfilling life
you could imagine? What would it be? What changes would you make? How and where would you begin? The answers to your questions will come, but only after you know which are worth asking.
I ask myself these questions every year and remain open to changes that the answers will inevitably bring. Often it consist of changing some habits (bad to good), saving some money to do the things I dream of, writing down my dreams and goals. I made it to Italy and Paris this year and wanted to share some pictures of designs I found to be inspiring.
Happy New Year to all...xoxo
